HAGERSTOWN, Md. – The Hagerstown Police responded to a welfare check on Thursday night and found a decomposed body on a South Potomac St. house.

Lt. Rebecca Fetchu is considering this death suspicious.

At around 9:30 PM, police received the call for a welfare check in the 400 block of South Potomac St. When police arrived on scene, they found a 60-year-old man who appeared to have been deceased for many days.

The man’s 63 year old brother was also inside the residence at the time and was questioned by police. He was asked if he was surprised by the prescience of the deceased man, Fetch said, “It would have been pretty obvious that he was in there with the deceased”

A search warrant was executed at the house to look for any possible evidence inside of the residence. The man’s body was sent to Baltimore for an autopsy.

An investigation is currently ongoing and it may take several weeks until the results of the autopsy are received.
