
A New York man is being charged with multiple felonies after a traffic stop that took place last week.
Shawn Phillips, 22, is being charged with receiving stolen property, identity theft, possession of a controlled substance and more. According to court documents that are linked below.
On October 16th, A Pennsylvania State Trooper stopped a white Ford Fusion on I-81 that was “traveling at a extremely low rate of speed in the left lane”
The trooper followed the car reporting that the vehicle was traveling at 41 miles per hour in a 60 mph zone. The trooper then activated his emergency lights stopping the vehicle in Southampton Township.
The driver was then identified as Phillips after giving the trooper identification. A passenger was also reported to be in the vehicle.
The trooper stated that Phillips’ behavior indicated criminal activity. He then requested consent to search the vehicle.
A search lead to the trooper finding a small amount of marijuana, several oxycodone pills, and 4 stolen debit cards.
Phillips is currently being held in the Franklin County Jail with a bond of $100,000.
His preliminary hearing is scheduled for October 26th.
